“It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Serendib Awards 2017.”
Serendib Awards, the most prestigious multicultural event in Australia is getting ready to shine for 2017!
Our objective is to honour and recognize the emerging Sri Lankan and multicultural community in Australia with a spectacular red carpet celebration for the 6th time in Melbourne.
How multicultural is the event? Over 15 non-Sri Lankan brand ambassadors have been appointed to integrate with several multicultural communities across Australia. Serendib Awards is the most spoken about event for its glamour and glitter. Social media has covered over hundred news articles, photography and videography as well as TV interviews till date. It’s probably the biggest media coverage a Sri Lankan or a multicultural event in Victoria has received in history.
The Hospitality consists of an outdoor cocktail party, with live action stations, with a memorable canopy and fine dining experience.
The hospitality consists of outdoor cocktail party with live action station canopies and fine dining experience. Last year, we had Kanan Homes as our main sponsor for the event. We also had the privilege to invite Cricket Australia AFL Multicultural, ANZ Bank, Deakin University and also some of the local councils who contributed and patronized Serendib awards. This has contributed to the local economy by creating opportunities for employment, partnerships and new businesses to grow. The executive committee consists of eight professionals and an independent panel of judges. We also have continuous support from a team of volunteers.
The Serendib Awards signify the contributions of multicultural communities made in Australia. Through this process as a community, we would like to bring the cultural values and harmony from Sri Lanka and be a role model in Australia. My vision is to showcase your talents worldwide about your exceptional contribution till today.
Personally, I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart beginning with the last years sponsors Sam Almaliki from Cricket Australia, Kashif Bouns from AFL Multicultural programs, Carl John from Deakin University, Diana Younes from ANZ Bank, Micheal Feehan from Carlton Football Club, Nash from Walawwa and Ken Mylvaganam from Kanan Homes for your continuous generous support.
